Thank you so much to everyone here on this post. This is the first time I experienced this problem - I've taken two previous exams with Pearson OnVUE and this wasn't an issue before. What a nightmare! But there definitely seems to be some software bug with the OnVUE software. Happy to report that I didn't have any further issues during the exam itself (phew). Luckily my webcam appeared and I was put through to my exam. After a second reboot, I launched the software and I was put straight through to the queue without the ID checks. I didn't trust the software to work again after a simple relaunch, so I ended up repeating the turn media features on and off then reboot step again. The proctor told me to close and relaunch it. ![]() After all of my ID checks I went into the queue, then I noticed my webcam was off again. I was then able to load up the OnVUE software and get past the first system check. My fix was going to 'Turn Windows features on and off' in Windows 10, disabling and re-enabling 'Media Features' then restarting my computer. My issue was down to my webcam and my microphone not being picked up at all by the OnVUE software, despite both devices working perfectly fine on, the Windows 10 Camera app and Discord! Like the others have mentioned here, I too experienced this issue on my actual exam day (you can imagine the panic with only 10 minutes left on the check-in). ![]()
